This is the Dragon package in this weeks drawing ~

To enter you need to be a follower of this blog. You need to let me know which package you want Owl or Dragon, your name will be entered in the drawing for that prize ~ The Winning names will be drawn on Wednesday October 24. Good Luck!

I got a few comments on this strange visitor at the door so I thought I would explain his costume or clothing . This costume is a replica of a Plaque Doctors outfit actually worn by Doctors in the seventeenth and eighteenth century. The costume was made by a UK artist who uses the name KC. I have provided a little history from Wikipedia below.

I will be back later with a story and some Halloween cheer :)

Hugs,
Victoria

A plague doctor  was a special medical physician who saw those who had the bubonic plague. In the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, some doctors wore a beak-like mask which was filled with aromatic items. The masks were designed to protect them from putrid air, which (according to the miasmatic theory of disease) was seen as the cause of infection. The protective suit consisted of a heavy fabric overcoat that was waxed. A wooden cane pointer was used to help examine the patient without touching.
